Was genau hat es mit dem Anthropozän auf sich, und wann hat dieses neue geologische Zeitalter genau angefangen? In diesem Vortrag werde ich aus ethnologischer Sicht darüber nachdenken, was es bedeutet, im Anthropozän Mensch zu sein. Zuerst werde ich einige Grundlagen schaffen, die in dieser Geo-Story von Bedeutung sind. Schnell wird klar, dass es unterschiedliche Auslegungen des Anthropozäns gibt. Danach werde ich eine alternative Version dieser Geo-Story vorstellen, das Kapitalozän, und werde dazu die Kunst, die Architektur und Science Fiction zur Hilfe rufen.
Im zweiten Teil des Vortrags diskutieren wir dann am Beispiel von Bremen und der Nordseeküste, was es bedeutet, im Kapitalozän, im Treibhaus des Kapitals, zu leben.
Vortragender ist Werner Krauß vom artec-Forschungszentrum-Nachhaltigkeit. Der Vortrag wird auf Deutsch gehalten.

What exactly is the Anthropocene all about, and when exactly did this new geological age begin? In this presentation, I will reflect from an ethnological perspective on what it means to be human in the Anthropocene. First, I will lay some groundwork that is relevant to this geo-story. It will quickly become clear that there are different interpretations of the Anthropocene. Then I will present an alternative version of this geo-story, the Capitalocene, and will call on art, architecture, and science fiction for help.
In the second part of the lecture we will then discuss what it means to live in the Capitalocene, in the hothouse of capital, using Bremen and the North Sea coast as examples.
